Default What's the Best Way to do This?

I want to swap in a black billet grill, but I want the area behind the grill to be black, not body colored. What is the best way to approach that? Does anybody make a vinyl that covers it? I'd rather not paint it if I don't have to.

i used plastidip to blackin it in, looks great. can get a can at home depot for 6 bucks, if you get sick of it, just peel it off, easy.

Here's some pics, I wanted to leave the holes white so you could still see them from an angle, took me 5 minutes

Taped it and sprayed then peeled before it dried

With grill on

**** if that's the case I feel like plasti-dipping my front bumper as well cuz I took the stock grille off and want to either slp grille it or black billet w/ blue chevy bowtie but didnt want the paint color to show and dont want to paint it black.

I thought about Plastidip, but I heard that peels over time and I wasn't really wanting to remove the grill again if I don't have to.

Mines been on over a month, no signs of it peeling or anything.. even washed the grill with a pressure washer several times. I know what you mean but personally I think it's the best option, not permanent

Plasti dip last a good long time.

If it chips, just spray more =P

I've got my whole front fascia blacked out with it and no grill, looks good for $6 =)

If you dont plan to ever remove it just paint it. I did this on my SS and once the grill is on, you cant see any imperfections in the painting. Just be careful of overspray on the front bumper and hood

I guess I'll check out Plastidip. I don't want to do anything permanent to my car incase I ever sell her in the future.

I painted mine like 7 years ago and like Cobra2WS6 said, you cant even notice anything behind the grille. But yeah PD is a good option if you are scared of a commitment.
