Default footbrake RPM with a Yank SS3600*******

What can you footbrake rpm with your ss3600 before your tires break loose and did you have to tune your trans. after you installed your converter?

Mines a TCI Super Streetfighter and I make it to about 2500-2600 before the 4.30 rear starts turning... Was just wondering this same thing myself. Thanks for posting the question

I am debating on a ss3600 or a ss4000 and will most likely go with the ss4000, but did anybody have to tune their car after the converter?

You will need a tune after a tc install.

Agreed, at the very minimum a mail order tune.

I just drove a car today with a yank 3600 stall with heads/cam. It foot braked to about 2700 before the tires broke loose. It wasn't on very good tires though...

You don't NEED a tune.

Agreed. All cars are not the same, some react differently than others once a TC is installed. I personally didn't need a tune once my TC was installed when I had a stock 4l60e, all I needed was a trans cooler. Surely a base tune wouldn't hurt anything for those of you who are **** about having a tune.

I can footbrake to 3k before the tires want to turn at the track. Ive had my best 60fts this way, but many people get their best 60fts going off of idle..

What are your guyses shift extension with the yank ss3600 converter? The I drove the other day dropped to 5k exactly and it shifted at 6500 rpm. I think my shift extension would be just as high if I was shifting at 6500 rpm

for what its worth...
Yank PY3600... built as a 5000 stall

Footbrake to 2500/2700 ish before my brakes wont hold it any more and I start to roll..
Shift at 6900... RPM Drops about 1200 rpm between shifts on my 2-3 which is my biggest gear split..everything else is right at 1000rpm for me.

Just to let some of you guys that are having trouble pushing through know, the higher (numerically) your rear gear is, the sooner you will push through your brakes due to higher gear reduction making more torque at the tires.

Agreed, foot braking has many factors effecting it.

Having not thought of that, and if I understand correctly, were I to change from a 4.30:1 rear ratio to say a 3.73:1, I might make 3000 or so rpm before my rear starts moving on brakes? Thanks for bringing this up.
