I have a 98 SS with FLP long tubes/tune/Slp exhaust/air lid my friend has a new mustang and he called me out of the blue to run him so I said yes I never back down from a challange win or lose he beat me a couple of times but I never gave up . my best time was 12.95 at 107 mph his best was 12.88 at 110 mph it was hot as hell here in NO La. he said I will never beat him so my question is what do I do next gears are a converter this is my DD to so I dont want to get to crazey just enough to beat him and shut him up.

According to the mods he listed he already has a tune. SS98#633 I Dont know how you feel about N2O but it sure would get you out in front of him Or maybe a cam swap. But out of the two you listed do the converter first.

He has 3 mph on you so his car has more potention. He could go 12.20s with some tire You could probably go quicker as is. Is the rusty a 5.0? If it is he is a tune and exhaust away from 11's with the right tires.

3600 Stall and a re-tune you should get a 12.4/12.5 with traction.

I think with a 3600 stall you will knock off .6 with traction.

I was running 12.91 with pretty much the same bolt-on's and only added a SS4000 converter, some M/T DR's on my stock 16 in. rims, and a chris1313 ram air and the next time out ran 12.03. Also says your car is a DD, a nice stall makes the car so much more fun to drive and didn't hurt my mileage at all.

I'd say a stall/tires to lower your ET, and a cam to open up your top end.

port thottle body and MAF ends, cut EGR tube, and cut and gut air box.. this alone will get you in the .80's at 109

....and of courst AT LEAST a 3600 stall.. 4000 is more like it.. 4400 would be perfect..

Your car is lid, exhaust, and tune A4 and you went 12.97 in hot ass air. WTF am I doing wrong!the best I've done with more mods and better air at 15ft above sea level is 8.4 in the 1/8. Just saying so I can compare. How much power did you make with your current mods?

An 8.4 is right on the 12.99 mark... you got a good tune?
