T56 input shaft to handle 1,000 + HP??
I'm currently making right at 1,000 RWHP. My current T56 has been "Viper speced" Driving it today it twisted the splines on the input and sheared off all the gears. NEED SOMETHING STRONGER!! Whats available for this?

You will either need to step up to a T56 Magnum or replace the gear and install a oil pump system and hope that's enough. Post a pic of the gear and I can tell you whether its a oiling issue or ripped up from the shear torque you are making.

Yeah thats from shear torque. Its trying to push the gears away from each other under hard acceleration. You can shim it tighter to put some more preload on it and use an oil pump but its only a band aid. I would look into a T56 Magnum if you plan on keeping a 6 speed in it. Other wise you might have to step up to a real race transmission or a heavy duty automatic.

SUCKS! It really kills me that upgraded t56s' gets destroyed like this when making lots of power. Is the T56 magnum aka TR6060 with upgrades or is it the triple cone-"Tranzilla"? Since the t56 magnum is the best solution to keeping a manual with over 800ftlb, does it at least hold up longer and last through some abuse?

T56 units are great transmissions for the average street/strip guys but quite honestly, unless you need the double OD, going to a race specific unit is not only going to last longer but also be lighter and shift better at the higher rpms seen in most typical drag racing applications.

It does suck. But even with a "built" trans you are limited to the stock T56 gearset. They can only handle so much abuse. The realistic torque threshold in a 3500lb race weight car is around 700ftlbs. Anything more than that you are asking for the input and cluster to fail. The "tranzilla" is an all aftermarket gearset T56. They will handle a good bit of power. But when pushed hard that gearset will wear out a lot faster than a T56 Magnum/TR6060. And the tranzilla gearset is so loud that they are completely out of the question when talking about street cars. If you are making big power and want to keep a manual transmission an upgrade T56 Magnum/TR6060 is the best bet hands down.
