Default LS1 temperature

Electric fan stopped running about 70 miles ago. Kept running car. Temp never got above 191 or 192. Engine seems to be fun. Does anyone know what is the safest temp to run without a fan. Thanks

Are you asking when the fan should kick on? Or is your fan broken? I don't think the fans kick on anyway until 200F in a stock motor. People frequently get the temps in excess of 215F when flogging on them.

Fans don't start until over 220. They automatically shut off after a certain mph. If your fan doesn't work I would recommend fixing it, it can cause an overheat condition quickly while stopped.

Had the high-fan not working since day one of buying my car, for maybe 3 months in California heat. No real issues (short of an SES light) unless car was stuck in traffic. It turned out to be a broken wire between the computer and the fan relays.... but don't worry about the high fan too much. And if it is the low fan that doesn't work... maybe that will be more of an issue, but I would think that the high would take care of any heat issues you have when the temps get high enough.

I wouldn't worry TOO much about it unless it is overheating on you often, or you are often stuck not moving.

Nope. Been running that way for about 9 years. Nothing wrong with
a cool radiator and a thermostat that's actually in charge.

Nice information. Exactly I did with ^^^^.
Agreed with others, don't need to worry when you see the temp over 225* and check on low fan runs. If low fan not run over 225*, you need check on thermostat.
