Went and got my 00 Z28/M6 Dyno'd today and I was pretty dissapointed. I have a tr224-112lsa cam, 3" flowmasters w/o cats, K&N some free mods and it said that I was only putting <B>316rwhp<B> and <B>316rwtq<B> and could only run the 1/4 in 13.6. I sit here and listen to other people tell the forums that they are putting out almost as much as I am stock, is this right, could there be a mistake? Comments welcome please.

Your 1/4 mile time is pretty consistant with the dyno numbers. Stock Z28's should run in the 13.5 range fairly easily and a stock M6 with free mods will dyno in the 315rwhp area. One of two things may be happening. One, the dyno is way off, you're doing more horsepower than it shows, and you can't drive the car at all. Or two, the dyno is right on, and you're a moderate driver. If it is the second senario, someone stuck a stock camshaft back in your car, or the tune is horrible.

Was it a Dynojet or a Mustang Dyno? If it was a Mustang Dyno, those generally read 15% lower than a dynojet, and would make your numbers ~363 on a Dynojet. What are your full mods list? Do you have headers, or manifolds? Pulley? LS6 intake?
If your only mods are a K+N filter, Flowmaster muffler (which probably flows worse than stock), and a cam, thats not too bad.

It was a mustang dyno, and yes right now my only mods are a cam(tr224-112lsa), the flowmasters,K&N, and free mods.

316 on a Mustang dyno with those few mods is pretty good, IMO.

Wow, that's some crazy bench racing, TELLING you your car will only run xxxx in the quarter.
As for the numbers, those are pretty good for a cam only car on a mustang dyno. As it has been said, that's about 360 on a dynojet .... and considering you probably have a more restrictive exhaust then you did when it was stock (flowmeiser) ... That isn't bad.
Throw some headers and a real catback system on there, have it tuned, then run it on a dyno jet ... you would probably easily be in the 380 rwhp range.

Wow, I never realized that Flowmaster was looked down on, I always thought that it was a little bit better then stock. I do plan on getting it tuned when the guy that does that gets back in town.

there's nothing wrong with your numbers at all especially on a mustang dyno.
i had the same set up as yours, 99 SS M6, TR224 112 cam, Lid, cut out, and my car put down 323 rwhp and 327 rwtq, on a Dyno jet, i was a little dissapointed, but beleive me, get some long tube headers, 3" ORY, LS6 intake, and a dyno tune, and you'll see a big difference, i picked up 75 hp and 61 ft-lb from the above mods plus Patriot 5.3 stage 2 heads over the cam only set up (398 hp and 388 tq).
did you dyno your car when it was stock? mine did 301 hp and 317 tq with a lid and a cut out,
hope that helps,

There is a flow comparision test floating around here somewhere, with a ton of different cat-back/mufflers .... if I remember correctly flowmaster flowed equal to, or slightly less then the stock cat-back.
They do sound awesome, however. :)

Thanks For the perks with it sounding good.LOL Maybe I can scare them away before I race them. I dod feel a little better about my car with the way that people have been talking about the mustang dyno.

well here's my Thoughts on the subject.. Plz Keep the Flaming to a minium guys =) There is Nothing Wrong with the Flowmaster catback.... Let me repeat that, There is nothing wrong with the Flowmaster catback... I went a 13.1@107mph at the Track W/ 98Z-28,M-6,FreeMods Thats it..... No lid,No cutout nothing... Ether my car was a Factory Freak or I just know how to drive... Now let's look on the flip side of this story, The 80 Series Weldin Flowmaster Sucks.... That must be the one that you guys are talking about.. But the Catback Flowmaster is 3' Manrel Bent pipe... It flow's rather well on a BOLT ON car.... I almost put money on it that it doesn't flow for shit when you start camming and Put LT's on you car... This is just my IMAO... I think all of us have been through that "What Exhaust should i put on my car Today" Faze... So do what you will with this tid bit of Info =)
Thanks all Steve-0
