With the right H/C/I boltons I say 700rwhp is possible it will be very very pricy though but worth it of course.....

User stage7 made 685rwhp on pump gas with his 465ci RHS.
Kumar also made 650rwhp with 500ci stock LS7 Heads & stock ported LS7 intake.

to many variables in combos to guess. like above 700 is possible though not likely without high rpms. I would expect a good 600whp with real good torque down low and street friendly driveability. what parts are being used?

Just one small correction.

Stage 7 made 671/632 and it was an ERL Superdeck 468ci built by HKE.

Unless he had a different dyno sheet than the one I have. Still amazing numbers on pump gas.
I happen to have the top end off that motor. His updated one will be even crazier.

Define "well built".....what cam, heads, intake?
I assume N/A?
Street?
Strip?
Pump?
E85?
What's it going in? Fbody, you're going to run into intake challenges. Vette....a different set of issues.

The heart of my 460 are the heads. I (we) think the intake will certainly let them do what they're supposed to do.

I should have have also mentioned, it all depends on how you feed the 502ci's.

The well built comment leaves it wide open. Is this a drag race motor, pump gas, or forced induction?

Then if NA, cam, heads, intake exhaust will all play a huge roll in the outcome.

I think Pump gas could deliver in the 700+ rwhp range with the right set up. Race fuel and set on kill, 850+ rwhp is even a possibility. FI, who knows. Thousands!

ive personally seen one make 750hp on pump gas on an engine dyno.... i dont remember what heads, but i know it had a badass beck manifold with a very long runner, made just as much torque as a fast in back to back dyno pulls, but like 30hp more.

the problem with most of these big inch engines is that nobody puts the proper heads and intake to feed them. It seems the trend is more cubic inches with no more top end.

if you built one with the proper top end to feed the engine properly I could easily see one making close to 900 hp at the flywheel and depending on the car it was going into, close to 800 at the tires. All on pump gas

We've made 730 flywheel hp with a ls7 440 and a Fast 102 and have a 460 with some big ole heads and a Kinsler ITB setup that hopefully will make well over 800hp on pump.

A great set of heads. Flow better than mine, at least on the intake.

A well spec'd solid roller would net the best results, but be less street friendly, unless you do not mind making regular adjustments.

Sounds like it could be a beast.

why would you need to adjust the valves regularly? What is wearing out that would cause the change in lash?

The people I know with aggressive solid rollers seem to adjust theirs regularly. Like every few passes and sometimes every one if it seems to be off a little, but they have a few more cubes, run race fuel and make over 1200hp at over 9000 rpm.

I am not an expert, but I would expect you might get away with doing it every 500 hundred miles, that is if you plan to make 900hp NA on pump gas. I would imagine to get 900 hp on a low enough compression for pump gas will need a fair amount of rpm to do it, which means a very stable valve train.

You are the engine builder I guess you can correct me if what I have seen is incorrect, but I would think a lot of people would be running solid if it needed little maintenance. Including me.
