Default Help RE battery relocation

I've read all the battery relocation info on different threads. One question persitst. Do I have to run the alternator wire separtely back to the trunk?? Or can i just splice this to the 1 gauge cable?? I know this part sounds expensive, how about running the 1 gauge cable to the front of the car to a distribution block (like all the car stereo guys have)?? From this I could branch some 4 gauge to each of the necessary outlets (starter, alternator, system accessories). Lastly, how about electrical short protection. Can I run a slow blow fuse (even with a super high rating like 200 amp, just for serious fire causing shorts)?? Lastly should i run this fuse near the battery in the back??? Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
