Default Anyone run sub 11's at Sealy/LMP lately?

Are they enforcing rollbars now or do they still look the other way?

I've been getting mixed information.

I'm not crazy about putting rollbars into a bolton only car, lol.

I hope not, if they are getting strict then I won't have a track to run on.

I've never had them say anything to me, nor have I seen anyone else have a problem as far as the rules go. I will say if you're going that fast on that track, you might want to have that roll cage, because you're likely to need it lol

3 weeks ago I would of said they wouldn't mess with you. A year ago I ran mid 12's and broke the DS. I finally went back, twice, but the car was pinging and still managing mid 12's. Still no mention of safety equipment. When I was there 3 weeks ago I was still having some issues and ran a mid 12. They now said I have to have a helmet. Something about the rules stating sub 13.99 for a helmet. I figure what the hell, I'll get a Snell 2010 that should last me til 2022 as far as certs go.

I think this is goes for half the people that go there. If they did get strict, they may as well make it a private test track for Hennessy use only, as turnout would drop drastically.

No, at Baytown you have to have a cage and firesuit for anything 11.49 and lower

Baytown is an NHRA track, so they are a bit more strict on rules, i.e they follow them.

Maybe Sealy is the first track to finally realize that 11s are slow? No need for a bar then

Anyway guys...the only reason I was asking is because a buddy of mine was told he needed rollbars there when he ran 11.98. He said rollbars were 11.49 and under and they gave him hell about it.

Could've just been an idiot working the booth though.

I'm glad to hear I still have a track to race at...swapping converters and adding skinnies to go for 10's bolton-only and then putting in my cam later this season to go for 10.5s

Definitely didn't want to rollbar the daily driver

I got repeated warnings for running 11.6-11.7 letting out at the 1/8th and got the boot when I made a full pass and ran 11.2

Exactly...11s are SLOW by today's standards of what cars can do.

Sure, a busted-*** foxbody might fall apart halfway down the track and need a cage, but not a showroom stock 911 Turbo S, ZR1, GTR, etc...

A change in the rules needs to be made to allow for current cars to run quicker/faster ET/MPH before the rules apply.

Its hit or miss....I was told not to come back because my 10 point cage wasn't certified for running a 9.97@90mph. I have since had my cage certified and been back a few times, sometimes they look at everything on my car and others they dont check anything.

Yeah, I agree, Waldo needs new clothes, but if he changed clothes, that would make him pretty tough to find because he would blend in so much better, he already gets him self in to some jams where he's tough to find him as it is.
