"Things you wish you did prior to reinstalling your FI engine"
I'm getting ready to install the engine and transmission back in my Camaro. It's a 2002, stockish LS1, and a built 4L80e (swapping from a T56 to A4). It's been about 9 months since I removed the drivetrain and disassembled the engine down to the shortblock to do some upgrades.
I plan to assemble the engine, converter, and transmission prior to reinstalling it back in the car. Right now the engine has everything up to the intake manifold, coil packs, fuel rails, and injectors back on it. I still need to reinstall a handful of sensors on the top of the engine and reattach the engine harness, etc.
I used a 50 step or so writeup I found here to guide me through removing the engine and planned to basically follow the instructions in reverse. I'm going to leave my turbo plumbing off the engine until the drivetrain is back in the car, then attach all the associated stuff once it's mostly back together.
Basically I'm looking for any "gotchas" or "I wish I would have done _________" before reinstalling my engine to try and avoid a headache or two.
Thoughts?

i wish i would have have smoothed the whole engine bay, but did and recommend is cut and welded/smothed the radiator support for the vertical radiator then did a wire mod/tuck relocated battery and reran all the power wires to a jbox hidden away, then painted the whole engine bay satin black

cars didnt always have abs and people managed. in 13 years of driving i dont think i ever had the ABS engage. but defintely clean up the engine bay. its the little things that you dont notice now that you will later.
