IL: 2005 Subaru Ver8 STi Motor - $9500 FS/FT
Year: 2005
Make: Subaru
Model: Impreza
Price: $9500
Mileage: 88000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): IL
Color: Red
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: 4WD & AWD
LS Engine?: Car has other engine
2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS
89k on the body
40k on the motor/transmission
Bought from a guy locally that was hard up for cash. I thought I'd be more up for taking on another toy than I was. Its a solid platform and the best part is the swap is already done and wired and the car runs and drives down the road and most of the stuff works. Just needs "finished".
Body does have a couple small dings, and the fenders/hood/front bumper were put on in a hurry and he lost some of the bolts/nuts so there are a couple missing here and there that hold the fenders on but they aren't going to fall off by any means.
Mods:
3.5" catback (not sure on brand, see pics)
Larger intercooler
STI suspension
Intake/filter
ACT stage 2 clutch
The GOOD:
Swap is done and car is up and running.
The motor is STRONG and set to stock boost and runs great, no funny noises or hiccups.
Transmission shifts great into all 6 gears and reverse and the clutch is new.
Hardley any miles since the swap as he was in the military and moving constantly and the car just sat.
STi hood
The bad:
Gas gauge not working.
No AC
No Power steering
He did have the blower motor hooked up so it has heat but the temp **** is stuck on hot and the fresh/recirculate lever is broke.
Couple dings here and there but nothing rediculous for a 2005.
Crappy back window tint.
Misc interior covers missing, one has a non functional button mounted in it.
STi hood is silver..
This would make a PERFECT auto cross or rally project for someone. Or could make an excellent daily driver (if you can live without all the ammenities) or want to fix the little things. The most expensive part is done, now it just needs some attention to detail.
KBB values a bone stock 2005 2.5 RS in Fair condition at $7000 and Good condition at $8000.
The cheapest I've seen the JDM Version 8 STi swap is $7000. Then your time/labor to install everything. Plus keep in mind it also has the STi suspension and brand new BFG tires on it as well.
This car will run circles around a WRX with the same mods, it hauls for being basically stock with a couple bolt ons.
A stock WRX KBB's at 10,500 - 11,800 in fair/good...
$9500 obo/trades (I like trucks, cars, bikes, doesn't hurt to ask... no boats or projects, must be able to drive it daily at will)
