Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series and LSX Shootout - LSX Shootout! Is your car ready yet?

Wondering if everyone has their cars ready yet or not (I already know the answer) Mine WILL be there for the 4th year in a row at the car show. No truck and trailer and cage or i would be racing in the index class. Just really excited to go again and check out everyones cars, and hopefully see some new ones since its further north and east this time. So lets see how your cars/trucks look right now!








Here is how mine sits right now with just over 3 weeks to go.

Redoing all my nitrous wiring (dont worry it will be extremly neat and organized when im done) and adding a electric cutout to my "bottle opener" switch.

I broke in bowling green, cue mad thrash to have the car ready in 3 weeks

gotta work out some traction issues. never had issues with traction like i did in bowling green in the left lane.

lol, I wish thats all I had to do!

I still need to fit and mount my VFN hood(likely won't be painted), finish installing tubular front control arms, drill the spindles for the manual rack endlinks, install speedglass(if it comes in in time/ordered 2 wks ago), finish cutting useless braces/mounts from the floor, finish stripping the wire harness, remove door bars, reinstall the complete interior, set ride height/adjust suspension, get front end aligned, and change leaky pinion seal.

I think that about covers it. :)

We will be ready for Indy. James and I took the car apart Monday night. It broke the rod in #8 cylinder and split the cylinder wall. New block going to the Machine Shop Monday. All new parts were ordered last week. I should be building the new engine by the end of this week. I would like to go test next weekend.

As I write this, my car is still in the shop. We are not sure if it will be ready for Indy. My plan was to leave 11 days from today. It has turned into a nail biting event over here. Fingers are crossed. May I am rent a LS vehicle if I am not ready.

May I am rent a LS vehicle if I am not ready.No need...if the event organizers/rule would allow it, I will happily let you use my car for Rumble. It would probably only become an issue if we got laddered together later in the day once it gets down to 32 cars, which is unlikely I'd even get that far of course. For practice and/or qualifying one of us will go off first and be back in the lanes long before they're done pulling cars. :nod:

Well if it comes down to it (though I really do still think his car will be ready) that leaves two other possible options. I do bow out and just run True Street and we can still share the car during practice/time shots OR (and this is a big one LOL) I drive the Z28 to Indy as planned and he trailers my Corvette out there. I run the Vette :eek2: in Rumble and True Street and he uses my Z28 for his Rumble campaign. :drive:

If this were just another race I likely wouldn't be offering but this guy is vying for a championship in the inaugural season of a new series here, gotta lend a hand if it's needed. :nod: Renting an LSx car is an option of course but can be costly and limited and then he's gotta hope that his drag radials (not so much for power as for consistency) will fit it as they won't fit on the rental 4.8L pick up trucks (if that'd even be permitted) if he went that route.

Besides, if Rob were to actually win this thing driving my car...winner's circle photos, magazine coverage, international fame, endorsements, my own clothing line etc. :lol: ;)

Went to the exhaust shop yesterday and got my electric cutout welded in

Got the car retuned yesterday also, but on my 250 mile round trip noticed my alternator isn't charging steady, so probably have to replace it. Then hopefully a good cleaning and the car will be ready for another shootout!

Just changed the trans fluid and put on some fresh drag radials

plan on making some test hits this coming wednesday then giving the car a once over before heading out...

I found out today that the Vette is back to normal. No more leaning out at full throttle above 5,400 rpm's. I will pick it up this week and test her at the 11.50 Index this Friday night. Fingers are crossed. :angel:

Mine is still on the trailer.......from bg........time to actually do something, getting the new driveshaft made this week and making the new torque arm hopefully this weekend

Great job on the wiringThanks! still didnt turn out as neat as I hoped for, but it will do.

Remember, depending on what class you're running in you might still be able to get there as late as 3pm on Friday (or even Saturday morning) and still make the show so no one should let any minor delays/set backs keep them from attending, plan to show up and race no matter what because it'll still be worth it. :nod:

Took the Vette out, first pass was human brain fart. The second pass was 11.539 @ 119.25mph. Then we were rained out. I am happy with the way it is running, thanks to ECS for fixing her.

Rob on the way home Fri night in that lovley rain on the bridge we nailed a lump on the roadway. Ripped my bmr tq arm bar right in 2 hope to cut it out monday and have my boy joey build me a new one .This sucks !!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love ny roads they should be SHOT!

With ECS in the HOUSE, I/WE have no worries. Last year Doug had Jay engines apart and back together to take home the win.

Underdrive pulley is going on tonight for a last ditch effort to run 12.00 without nitrous. Then its getting washed and going in the trailer. Luckily I only have a 2.5 hour drive.

I got my sportsman fronts mounted up today so my car can conform to true street rules. My car is locked and loaded. I'm ready to kick some butt in 10.0. Come getcha some boy!


The track is hooking like crazy at Lucas Oil Raceway right now. My car was cutting record 60's last Friday night out there. It will be a hook fest on the line for sure.
