Just a reminder that “expert” advice is not always correct. I telephoned the tech help line at Comp Cams to inquire about differences between 915 and 918 valve springs. I was told that 915s are only intended for use with flat (non-roller) lifters. I respect Comp and I don’t expect their engineers to answer help lines but the person I spoke with was absolutely certain and equally wrong. Believe it or not, there have even been cases of bad advice on this forum. Be careful out there.

Wheres the bad advice? One is made for NON roller cams (the 915s). The roller cam and flat tappet lifter cam lobes are COMPLETELY different which will require a different spring. You cant just slap any spring you want on a cam and set of lifters.

That is whats good about this forum. You get fast answers. Lets say 20% of a post viewers respond. When 1 of them gives so-so advice, chances are that someone is more likely going to reply, that wouldnt have if all good advice was posted. Just like dont go of the first estimate for repairs and get second oppinions from doctors.
