Default Lq4+Turbo capabillities

Have searched but havnt found a difinitive answer. How much boost can I run on a stock lq4 bottom end without issues? 40k Lq4 with ls1 top end, looking to eventually run 10 psi, is it possible? Using an sts kit, adding intercooler, and bov.

Where did you search?

Just curious,..since they're are more stock bottom end builds then ever. From 500wheel to whatever is possible. 10psi? sure, no problem. Add your fuel, tune,..key equations to the puzzle to making anything last, let alone FI.

Do some research on the setup so you know what your diving into,..it's all out there.

I was just wondering if the stock bottom end will hold the power, granted all the supporting mods are done correctly. Eventually it will be on about 8-10 psi as I build the car more. I'm a turbo noob.

Its kinda hard to find stock lq4 info, but I'm shooting for 700rwhp with my stock 115k lq4 with a zo6 cam. I am going to run a tc78 with 80lb injectors and obvious other things.it will take about 14-16 lbs to do it I belive. As far as reliability it will probly last a while as long as my tune is good and I keep the rpms down. My personal experience with these motors
Tells me to keep the rpms down and a good tune and it should live. Rod bolts and head studs are a good idea but I may not do them. It seems to be hit or miss. What's your power goals? M6 or auto? There are important things to consider. It takes some planning if you want reliability. 10psi should be fine on a rearmount with a good tune. What size Turbo?

You'll be fine man, everyone has gotta start somewhere. Do you already own the STS kit? Is it a stock kit?

Yes, and yes. I plan on adding my own intercooler because im not paying them $1000 for theirs plus I want to make everything as hidden as possible, and a bov. Also plan to upgrade the turbo down the line aswell.

Look into "quick Spool Valve" for sts kits... you'll probably be interested. haven't used one but I have installed a few sts's..on various platforms,...long story short, they build boost(and more) better in the upper gears, 3rd, 4th...etc(due to the load placed on turbos cause your in a gear for longer-long story short) Anyways, a quick spool valve, from my understanding, will help the car build the same boost quickly, in all gears, even the lower 2.

Again, never messed with one of those so search it out,..i'm sure the info is out there.
