Default Put my Mustang on the scale tonight...

It is a '91 LX Coupe, 6.0. 4L80, single turbo set up, AJE K & tubular A arms, has a glass cowl hood & it is on Weld RT-S wheels with 275-60 MT radials out back.

With me in it (I'm around 175 lbs), between 1/2 & 3/4 of a tank in it.

3260 lbs

I doubt I ever get crazy with removing weight, since it is going to be a street car 99% of the time. I haven't had it to a track yet, still on a "break in" tune with low boost & timing.

(Decided to add some pics)

badass ride.

Woulda thought it would be lighter. My vette weighs 3128 with half a tank a gas, leather, and ac. HOPING I can get the mustang under 3000lbs.

Your car looks sick . Digging the welds.

You should be able to get it there pretty easily. I had mine (built 5.0) weighed when I finished it a couple of years ago - 3,035-lbs. with me (145) in the seat and 3/4 tank.

sweet ride. Im guessing its the turbo setup and 4l80 that are keeping the weight on....
my 96 with an ls1 and 4l60 weighs 2960 w/o driver and with 1/2 tank

then again, it has no back seat, stripped trunk and has racing seats...
I woulda thought yours was around my weight

Thanks all!

It would be easy to get the car down in the 2900-3000 lb range. I was actually thinking the car would be around 3200 without me in it, that trans weighs a lot and the turbo isn't light either.

iron block+big turbo+4L80=weight that will haul a lot more than its own

I think the weight is low considering that is race weight.

Good to know, my car right now with LS6 in it weighs 2760, im about to go single turbo lq4 this fall. Do you still have all sound deading? Mine is more race manners then street, no sound deadner, only 2 speakers , no back seats, racing seats, but also have 8pt cage.

Mine will have nothing inside but a cage and a few gauges and two seats. lol, nothing else. So many different weights in here. Curious to what reductions everyone has done to get so many different numbers. I know iron/vs aluminum/ turbo vs NA matters obviously, just curious to what tricks are being done. No bumper supports?

I still have all of the interior, all sound deadner, nothing has been removed from the car.

I had a coupe I scraped all of the sound deadner off of the floor of. It was a full 5 gl bucket, was a pain in the *** though.
