Default 99 Cobra worth anything? WTT

This guy wants to trade me for my 80 Trans Am. Has 98k miles, badass heads, full exhaust and I can't remember if it has cams or not. Said it dyno'd at 360 to the wheels. Also comes with a 03/04 supercharger but needs a crank pulley. Super clean, paint looks like it needs to be cut but it's in good shape.

What are these things worth?

I've had a lot of interest in my car but it's hard to let go. I started putting the final touches back on the body, IE body kit, headlight bezels etc. and it drives great.

Even if it is a 03/04 clone, i've always wanted a cobra vert. It is a real cobra just not the right year and it does include a supercharger.

Unless it's an actual 03/04 cobra, i wouldn't do it. They aren't very sought after. Imo, a convertible would be even harder to sell, unless you find some old guy that wants it.

99 cobra for 15K? Lmao, thats high mileage 03 cobra territory. You also need more parts than just a crank pulley and the eaton itself to run it, if he doesn't have those then you have to hunt them down. I'd pass.

Hey now I liked my Fords lol..

Idk I am on the fence about it. It's a hell of a lot nicer than the T/A will ever been but that car is still worth some money, even as a project.

And of course imma sell it, just something to enjoy a month or two as I would like to end up in another lifted truck.

Can anyone put a price on this car?

kbb says 10.5k in excellent condition and that one doesn't look like it would be in that tier so i'd say a couple grand less, maybe around 8500-9k...

I would pay it, but I could see 9-10 out of it if the miles are decent.

From a performance standpoint Trey, I think you'll be very disappointed. Not to mention I've heard HORROR stories about those non-supercharged Cobras with aftermarket superchargers.

No, I wouldn't even think twice about it.

It sounds like this guy has talked the car up and has you thinking he is right. He is a good salesman. The problem is you are believing all the BS he told you. If all it needs is the pulley to make it right, why hasn't he installed it. That would instantly increase the value if it were that simple. The fact is, its not.

...can it perform better than your 80s T/A? if so and thats what your after, then do it.

you can always build it up if unsatisfied. however try and haggle with him a bit, cuz he is a bit out of his mind on the pricing.

Here is one at Beck & Masten for $9,800.00 with less miles and a lot cleaner...

You are going to have a hard time selling the car unless you get it painted. The flames are going to lower the amount of people looking to purchasing a cobra. I personally think they are ugly and would pass on it because of the flames.

Don't do it, in a couple of years the TA will be worth way more than the mustake. Even if the TA does have a LS swap in it. Plus, I dont' like convertables. I wouldn't even look at it if I was looking for a mustake.
