Got back to the track last night to see what some better air would do and it do good!
First pass was a 10.67@128 with a 1.55 60' not to bad, bogged a little off the line and short shifted to third a touch. Was on the limiter about 50' before the 1/4.
second pass 10.52@126, car left hard i drove it well but decided to try to short shift to 5th.....not a good idea, car trapped 102 in the 1/8th and didnt pick up nearly like it had been. 1.48 60'
video thanks to mike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxJ3c...er_profilepage
third pass 10.58@128 car looks like its leaving good but it bogged. went a 1.49 60' more limiter :-(
Last pass 10.49@128 6.69@102.5 1.47 60' 4.31 330(faster than my wrx on the 10.19 pass) spun just a touch out of the hole but worked out pretty well, this was the first RACE i had, was door to door with a pewter f body and when i looked over in third and he was next to me i let the car bump the limiter just a touch. And again...limiter for 75-100ft at the end of the track....
I have located a new gear. A 3.92 Infinity rear end that actually bolts right up. It will give me a slight edge and maybe i can run a 10.30 in the 130s. The DA was around 300-400 feet from the site i looked at last night so that could improve a touch. I could make the car lighter but i doubt i will. I have to believe the car will make it into the 130s with just the gear change, and considering i have only made 7passes in the car, i might just eek out some more ET too.
Big thanks again to Hal and Eddie at dynosty for the patience and the great tune!
Andrew DiMartino - you came through big for me with the cold air set up and it payed off! Thanks man.

I love the build and the great runs. My own 240 is very similar and I'm hoping for under 10.5's. I am glad to see that can be done without monstrous rear tires as well.
One thing I thought I might share since I see you have done some serious weight reduction, something I am no stranger to myself. (2338 wet curb with my old KA, in a hatch)
The O.E LS6 Z06 corvette crank pulley/harmonic damper is roughly 2.5 pounds lighter than an equivalent LS1 'Vette pulley. The inner ring is aluminum and is bonded via rubber elastomer to the outer steel ring. My particular unit was removed from an 01 Z06 Corvette.
Just a simple little, easy to do swap that can help your engine rev a bit more freely and reduce some weight up front.

As a fellow 240 owner, I must ask what wheels and tires setup you're using, as I've had some trouble so far trying to get fat tires in the wheel wells properly.
Great time, I hope to be in the same area next year!
Thanks

I haven't run my car at the track yet, and I plan on using the stock 4.08 on the 240, what was your redline set to? wondering if I should use the J30 rear end as well but hoping since my ls revs to 7400 it won't bounce off the rev limiter, and if I do can you just take the ring and pinion off the J30 and put it in the 240 diff? already have a kaaz lsd.

Another question, seems you hooked up pretty good, what kind of suspension are you running in the rear? got some coilovers and links and some solid bushings on mine hoping they do well just want some info in case I smoke the tires every pass, have same size M/T et streets, about the same weight as yours and everything that could be moved to the back was, fuel cell, battery, 12" sub, and amps.

Nice numbers. That's one of the fastest times I've seen on the ls 240sx swap. I haven't taken mine to the track yet, but I'm running the 3.54 Q45 rear end. I'm surprised you weren't batteling issues with massive wheel spin, most of the guys I've talked to that run the stock gears say that 1st and 2nd are almost useless.

Wheels are weld draglites 15x8 5.5bs fronts are 15x3 no idea on bs. Tires are m/t et street 26x11.50-15s a little old but doing the trick. Running them at 11.5 psi before the burnout. @nd gear burnout is absolute must!
Are you 4lug or 5? teardrops fit nicely with a 26x8.5-15 et drag. Good cheap combo to run there.
Suspension is BC Racing coilovers 8k front and 6k rear springs. They were set pretty stiff in the rear and soft in the front. I have ebay rucas and ebay toe arms, no alignment.
Battery is in rear otherwise everything is pretty much gutted back there. Half a tank of gas.
Im launching the car at around 5000 on the video with a pretty swift clutch dump. My fastest 60' came from a 6000rpm launch.
We have never had issues getting 240s to hook, they just work. A friends s13 hatch with sr20 went low 1.50s years ago, that why i chose this chassis.
As far as running out of gear....all depends on how fast you are going to go. revving to 7400 you will have enough gear with the 4.08 and 26'' tire to run in the mid 130s i believe.
As far as the fastest ls240, i havent seen any faster but as easy as it was to go this fast there has to be someone out the faster. There is a 408 s14 car with nitrous that has been 9.60 iirc but thats a little different story imo.
Thanks to all.

nice ride!
Not sure how you have your intake tubing setup.... but an over the radiator style straight shot intake will give you another 10-20hp..... any major bends (ie 90*) will zap a little power.
Trapping 102mph in the 1/8 mile you should be able to run some low 130's easily.
