Holley LS Fest - why doesnt anyone camp out at the ls fest???

Just wondering where everyone stays and why noone camps out right next to the track. we always bring our camper but we only saw one other set of camaros there. however we hosted the first lsfest picnic table beerpong tournament sat night

There were four people camping in my area including myself.

well damn we needa get a group together next year hell we had to invite a buncha friends from home to come play cornhole n beerpong.

were you at the campground? We camped at the track lol, party all night

yea we was at the campground didnt think about setting up at the track we were right by the fence tho so it wasnt far

I was going to camp but I found a decent hotel for 50 bucks a night with fridge, stove, and microwave and of course a nice shower. I would say that the weather was perfect for camping other than the little rain that came through.

yea the night we played cornhole and beer pong we sat up tarps but by the time we went thru the trouble to set it all up it stopped raining

so when we gonna organize this big party?

I WILL be there. It's my birthday weekend and I will be drinking up a storm lol

I'm down with 1-2 other buddies possibly.. No moonshine cause I usually get BS, but we will have plenty of alcohol.

im not sure if its free or not at the track maybe someone can chime in on that??, but its kinda high at the camp ground i think we stayed most of the week and i think it was close to 100 bucks, this year i may try to stay at the track idk yet

Good shine should get you hammered extremely quick but go down very smooth.... It shouldn't scar your throat going down.

lol not entirely true, most moonshine has a pretty decent burn ( minus a fruit made brandy shine or a mixed up apple pie drink, however it doesnt burn like taking a shot of pure grain even tho its almost as strong, ive had shots of stuff that put hair on my chest and shots of things that could barely be called water, u can make moonshine not burn much but the proof is crap unless its brandy, u gotta think all moonshine is, is unaged whiskey for the most part, what gives whiskey that smooth taste is the charred or uncharred oak barrels that its stored in for years. also on the whole going blind thing and whatnot, its very hard to even attempt to make someone go blind with moonshine, although its possible, methanol is the culprit for these old scare tactics to try to get people to stop drinking moonshine however on a run of moonshine less than 1 percent of what comes out of the still is methanol and all of the methanol comes out at once around 155 degrees which is the boiling point of methanol. ethanol comes out around 175 so rule of thumb is to take about a shot glass of liquid after u hit 175 and toss it thus ensuring 0 methanol is in ur distillate.

I think a 'shine tasting sounds like a great idea preferably later. Last time I had some someone had put a whole peach in it. I didn't realize how strong it was until an hour later when standing became a lot of work. :)

Guess I should rephrase... For how strong it is, it goes down pretty easily. LOL

I don't think many things over 100 proof go down like rum chata. LOL

I will be staying at the host hotel with the wife and daughter. If I had a decent size camper that was fully furnished we would be staying at the camp ground.

In 2010 my father was fallowing me down there and I blew two tires on the trailer and my father was pulling a 20' camper with an old 91 chevy 1500 and the motor blew up just shy of BG. It was a trip from hell. It took 7-8 hours and should of been 4-5 hours.


The indoor pool at the host hotel is the shit. A few video games and a hot tub. My daughter had a total blast in 2010.

damn that sounds horrible im lucky that our trip is like 30 miles and even at that last year i came close to blowing up my chevelle, on the way the nyllon braided fuel line fell onto the header then busted then started vaporizing fuel and i drove 10 miles like this before i realized it, fuel psi was good, car was running fine, i started smelling gas but at the time my fathers truck ran like ass and ran super rich so i thought it was his truck til we stopped at a gas station, i got lucky i wasnt blown up that time

heck yea party at my camper, 2cd annual beerpong championship. and yea im pretty sure they do have showers at the track, the big bathroom behind the scales area should have them.

If not showers, the river will be fine.

I didnt know it was allowed, so I just emailed LSFest@Holley.com to ask if I could. Last year I slept in im car. I called Beach Bend last week and spoke to Dallas Jones. He didnt seem too excited to help and told me since I'm not racing and only in the "Show and Shine" that I'd have to stay at the camp grounds for $30 a night.

I can only go my experience at other races at beechbend.they do not go around checking for passess at the track there will b a lot of people staying at the track.Holley rents the track for the weekend as far as Dallas Jones that's just business getting another 30$ a nite in his pocket he can be a real jerk. I would just go in and not say anything about camping.hope to see u there.

Does anyone know the name of the campground near by? I'd love to camp at the track, but I don't see that happening since I'm not racing. I'd like to be there the whole weekend, but if I can't camp, I'm not paying for a hotel, so I'd only come Saturday.

Yea ima try to stay at the track. I mean hell its expensive enough just putting the car in the carshow if I cant camp at the track I may loose a little respect for Holley. I mean 75 bucks for a carshow is a little steep. If it didn't come with two weekend passes I wouldn't do it at all. And of course I forgot to preregister Lol but even 55 is high for a carshow. Yea last year me and the guy that owns the campground had some words hes a real dickhole.

I'm probably going to show up Saturday and stay that night. I'll also be in a spray painted C10! haha. 350 SBC though, so it's ganna cost me an arm and a leg to get there (though its only a 75 mile drive). I'll keep a look out for ya.

I was a little let down on everyone that said they wanted to "party".. Where was everyone? We need to get the night crowd a little more organized next year, have an actual spot setup where everyone can come to one place. We had a good group but more is always better.
