Car ran 7.98(1.78 60') in the 1/8th with the 315-17 M/T's, then ran a 7.64 with the clutch going away(1.72 60') on the 295-15 M/T's. Got a McLeod Twin in it now- I think it'll do 7.5's easily with the new clutch. The 15's didn't slip at all, even with a 4000 rpm dump, stalled the car, then a came back with a 4500 launch and ate my Spec 4 for lunch...but that was the 7.64 pass.

Wow ... now that looks great .... !!!! So, that is what my Pewter SS could look like. I actually looked at Champion wheels, but they only had rear backspaces up to 7". After a second look, I see the CWI Series Beadlock comes in a backspace up to 8".
Tell me about LS1 brake clearance .... alot of grinding, a little grinding or no grinding?
I would love to go a route like this, but Race Stars are still considerably cheaper.

Thanks! Actually will not clear stock brakes at all on the rear, I have wilwood drag brakes thats going on, (wilwood sent the wrong bracket) I had pro stars and done a lot of grinding, then went bogart and they fit perfect, ordered these and wont even fit, so i ordered wilwoods. Very nice wheels and very fast turn around by champion though.
Damn, I hate budgets .... !!!!!
