Today I was talking to a guy I know and he tells me that he just had his 01 Z28 Auto dynoed. I ask him what it put down and he said 352/366 with a cat delete and a lid. I throw the BS flag faster than Wyatt Earp draws his revolver. He tells me that they are legit #'s the stall was locked and it did those numbers twice in a row. He told me that he outran a auto 2011 GT from a dig by 1/2 car and was even with him till the top of 3rd and the Z28 pulled away. Guys am I missing something or is he as I thought and full of complete BS.

well, those numbers seem a little high. but then again you said the stall was locked. so basically yes those numbers are bs because you don't run you car with the converter locked. with the converter locked you will usualy dyno higher #'s. now as far as beeting a 2011 gt from a dig... what stall does he have? what tire is he running? any weight reduction done to the car? was the 2011 a stock auto?

For what it's worth, on average, catback/lid autos put down around 295ish. HP numbers are a moot point anyway. I don't ask what whp someone has, I ask them what they trap.
Usually guys with big inflated HP numbers magically "forgot" their trap speed, 60ft, ect..., or lost their time slip and can't remember their numbers

I know that my friend has a stock stall and even with a locked converter there is no way in hell those numbers are right....unless he's lying about mods. My 02 6spd with lid and full exhaust only put down 340/350. My friend has a set of radials so I assume he was running them when he raced the Stang but to be dead even then pull 1/2 car at the top of 3rd isn't gonna happen. If he has weight reduction its very basic he took out the spare/jack. The 2011 GT was a bone stock auto which is what he said.

I would say its possible but unlikely. This is why I hate dyno numbers, it is just a tool used to tune a car and get an idea of where you are. But the thing is every dyno is different and numbers can vary location to location. I know some dynos list corrected and uncorrected numbers so there is a chance he is just looking at the highest number on the sheet without knowing what exactly it means

We will never know. Dyno numbers really dont mean anything, its how the car runs. I dont wanna go all out and say this guy is full of shit because sometimes dynos do give generous numbers with little mods.
When my car had the stock stall and 2.73s i had full exhaust, tune, and lid. put down 320 rwhp and 345 rwtq. This was without an ls6 intake!
Dynos are tuning tools thats all.

I know my car with just exhaust would trap 86 mph 1/8 mile. I seen a 2011 gt at the track trap 82mph so id say your buddy did out run the gt he raced. But as far as the numbers that does seem alittle high.

My car in stock form dynoed 300/320. When I put the lid,ls6 intake,pp tb, LTs,3"cutout,and a tune on that dyno it said I only gained 8rwhp and 11rwtq.
My best time at the local 1/8 mile was 8.396 @90mph and my 60' 1.97. Before the mods it ran the best of a 8.537 @88mph with a 60'2.013

Was that on a mustang dyno? Cause I made 332 full bolt on b4 tune and after tune 353/370 to wheels.. minus not having ported TB
