Anyone Run 8s with an F1 Procharger??
Like the title says. Thinking about going this route on a 408 in a 3200 lb Formula. Car is running 9s on the bottle now.

My '99 Z28 ran a 9.12 with driving through the converter. It has a 408 with an F-1A, and a powerglide. It ruined the converter and sent shavings all through the transmission. The mph with the 9.12 run was only 146 and the converter was slipping so bad. We got swamped at the shop after that, and never got the car fully sorted. Bob

Correct, KP got into the 8's with a D-1SC in his '98 T/A. It was a 347 and had my blower cam in it. He then bought an F-1A head unit from me, and got it down into the 8.80 range before he sold the car. If I remember correctly, his car weighed 3500 lbs.

Nonetheless, to the OP an F1A or better will get you to your goals if everything else is there, just look at Bob's performance. Step up to a 'C' or an 'R' and it would be no problem. R's have been in the 7's at that weight.

Bob, I don't remember KP's car going 8's with a D1SC, and I believe his best was an 8.92 with the F1A/364 LS2/EPP cam before it stood up on him. I think dschmittie1 has it right. Car weight wasn't that heavy either, in fact I recall he had it pretty light (3200'ish) towards the end. Its possible I have my facts wrong, but I don't think so. Maybe Kevin will chime in,,,,,,probably not. Regardless, the car ran very hard for what it was - great combo without draining the bank account! If I recall he put alot of runs on that car too, alot!

All good info. Thanks. I went to Brute Speed site. They provide a lot of info. I will take some time to read over that. That should give me an idea of what and how.
Thanks again
