Default is this block any good?

is this block still usuable. i'm finishing up my build and my bottom end is stock. i wanted to get my car running first to enjoy it and pick up a spare ls block to build while i have fun with my stock bottom end. i'm picking this up for almost free. what would need to be done to this?

Take a sawzall to the innards and make a dummy mock-up block, much cheaper than paying $370 for a plastic one!
