Wheel experts - Please help with offset/bs'ing
Sorry, I know this has probably been asked a million times but I need some help.
I have stock 17x9 5 spoke ZR-1 style (factory) wheels in my 98 SS. I believe the offset is 2" (50.8mm) and the backspacing is 7". First, is that correct?
Second, if I go to a 17x9.5 wheel with a 53mm offset and 7.3" backspacing, will my wheel fit any differently on the car? That is, will it fit further towards the inside of the car or will in be relatively in the same place it is now?
Any help is appreciated!!!!
Thanks!

Your info sounds correct. The OEM wheels are 50mm offset.
A 53mm offset is going to move the wheel 3 mm inwards, or in simpler terms 1/8". Not a big difference and nothing to worry about. I have 56mm offset wheels on my car.

Re: Wheel experts - Please help with offset/bs'ing
Thanks for the info! My concern was that I didn't want to move the wheels inward where they would look tucked too far in the wheel well. I've seen this and I don't like the way it looks.
