Default FYI Axle Seals are a Bitch!

I was thinking it was gonna take just a few minutes with a seal puller to get this thing out, but hell no! I had to beat the **** out of this seal with a pry bar and mallet to get it out.

Haha, same thing thappened to me when I did mine on my Jeep. Took me forever to get those damn seals out. I did the bearings too while I had it apart, those were a major PITA to get out too.

It was on a Dana 35, the ten bolt of the Jeep world.

Rent a 3 jaw puller with the slide hammer attachment from your local auto parts store. Makes changing axle seals and bearings easier.

I did....they came out, but the slide hammer destroyed them on the process. Not that that was a big deal, but I still had to pull all the pieces out, wich was a PITA in itself.

The bearing cage split from the race, I had a heck of a time getting the race out.

I ened up buying a bearing puller kit from Harbor Freight for 20 bucks, that did the trick.
