Default Swithing: '00 rearview for '01+

I like the 01 rear view mirror a lot better. Anybody know if you can just simply swap them out, and the light still work?

Thanks

Only pics i found and searching from phone is a pain.
The 01-02 looks more updated/modern than the 00 and previous, entire shape and the button location. I am speaking of trans ams, no idea if the Camaro is the same way.

Never noticed the mirrors even changed. Anyway, it should not be a hard swap at all. Even if the plugs are different you could always just use spade connecters.

Yeah if anything just cut the connector and splice it in under the headliner

Wiring harness is different. . but that can be changed . .

I thought the "newer" ones looked chintzy . . . but that is my opinion . .

Yeah I was thinking of one that has a compass built in, maybe the auto-dim feature, and also look into what it would take to install a temp probe so the outside temp could work as well.

Exactly!! And I want that bitch to have red lights too so it matches the rest of the car. Would the grand prix's have them?

Wiring harness is definitely different, as stated. They also use 194 bulbs instead of festoon bulbs.

Kinda the same as the Camaro's. Mine being a '99, the switches for my map lights are on the face of the mirror but on my fiancees '01, her switches are on the under side of the mirror. I think now they offer a "universal" rear view that has that OnStar stuff but haven't really looked into it to know if any other features come with em or not nor have I looked at prices since I'm content with my mirror as is. I just seen the add somewhere, can't remember where.
