Default I want to lower my TA w/ Stranos...

I am wanting to lower my 02 TA and I wanting to use Strano springs. On their website do I just order the 1.2" lowering springs or is there anything else I should get?
Thanks!

Call Sam directly.

It's debated, but shocks, panhard bar, & lower control arm relocation brackets. Followed by an alignment.

ive also heard that you might want to get an adjustable torque arm but that might be if you lower the car over 1.5"

I'd strongly recommend some shocks since stock ones aren't very good let alone when 10+ years old, then you'd be asking them to control higher rate springs, and because they are lower, do so in less range of travel....

I'd also tell you to think about an adjustable Panhard bar as when you lower the car one side of the PHB moves, the other does not, which shifts the body. Some cars have no issue (off center stock and lowering fixes it), some have big issues (correct stock, lowering throws it off). You can take the "see what happens" approach because it's not dangerous if it's off, and it's easy, easy, easy to install at any time.

Thanks for the input guys.

Sam, I'd really like to change out the shocks as well. Like you said, 10 year old shocks are probably ready to be changed out anyway. I notice alot of people like to go all out and get some Koni shocks, but I just can't afford all of that at the moment. What else would you recommend that are a better bang for the buck? This is a street only car btw.
Thanks for helping out I appreciate it!!

What stroked383HSR said.... Bilstein's are much better quality than AGX's or Tokico's. SLP's and HD's are not the same, and I can buy (and that means sell) "SLP's" for less than if I buy "HD's" from Bilstein direct.

I have the shocks and springs in stock.

Thank you Sam. I just did the rears on my car tuesday and its night/day difference. I bought the SLP ones for my DD in April and just couldnt get around too it. I used my stock springs and am in love now. Ride height is exactly what it was before swap. Cant wait till I go down to a 18 or 19 inch rear wheel, then i'll call u and get some lowering springs. Oh, i'm gonna do the fronts this weekend.

How aren't they? Only a much better built shock. More durable. Better with impact harshness and will last a lot longer. Adjustment is great, when it's a good adjuster setup. AGX's, QA1's, etc don't have good adjustement. Koni's are great (they adjust what's happening with the piston the other don't).

AGX's cost more, don't work as well, or for as long.

Sam,

I'm looking to lower my car about 1.5'' - 2'' and also stiffen up the ride quite a bit. so that I won't have to worry too much about scrapping on bumps with a stiffer ride. I'm wondering what you might have in order to acquire this goal? I'm coming to you after hearing nothing but such numerous raving reviews. And what parts you think I would need to do this on my 02 T/A.

You might also check your bump stops to make sure they are in tact. If not, get some of those as well. It's a cheap add but look into getting smoe pacers for them as well as I ended up rigging mine up for now.

You can "order" on the website... we'll just call you back for the credit card information. I know it's a little old-fashioned, but with the way hackers seem to get online credit card numbers I think this is the safest way. Some will hate it, and believe me it takes more time from my day--but in the end I think it's the best thing for the customer's security.

I think I read somewhere that the SLP billsteins are a little bit stiffer than HD's? Also isn't the warranty different SLP vs HD's? Is any of this true?

Welcome to the internet where what was said becomes fact forever. It used to be that the SLP's and HD's were different. And it used to be that the SLP's had a little less compression damping in front, but more rebound and used standard HD rears. That's all changed.

Now HD's and SLP's are the same part number and shock. HD valving has changed in the rear, and they started using the SLP valving in the front as standard. I sell the SLP "version" because I can get a much better bulk discount, which means I can sell them to you for less as well. That's why you still see HD's and SLP's on the site and the only reason. If folks thought that I didn't have HD's and didn't see them, they'd go onto somewhere else which I don't want.
