Power dropping off above 3500??

Power dropping off above 3500?? I have a 2000 SS 6 speed with ported heads, cam, full exhaust and tune. Car has always ran great..... Recently under W.O.T once it hits around 3-3500 it lays down(like its losing 50-75hp) then after it gets past 4500 or so it comes back to life and pulls great all the way to the limiter..... Im sure its not a fuel pressure issue since it regains full power..... I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas?? I need to put the scanner on it tommorow and see if Im losing RPM signal....
