Default How do you get carbon off heads and pistons?

a search did not turn up much............whats the best way.........or your fav way to do it?

But on a serious note, what the guy above me said is what I did (I used carb/choke cleaner but same stuff basically). Just make sure to get all the grit out of the cylinders afterwards. Air gun works great for that.

White Roloc disc and a 90" angle grinder/power drill is the fastest.

harbor freight is the cheapest place to get them discs but be carful not to drind on it to long or u will take away some metal which will EF your heads up. we use a wire brush on a air tool and lightly remove the carbon, it takes like 5 mins or so then wipe every off and blow off with air nozzle

Angle grinder, pneumatic, and a 2 inch roloc disk made for gasket removal.

Thats about it..........best way to keep it spotless is to run something like Lucas fuel system treatment every tank full of gas. I've tried it and it does keep the internals spotless.

really though you can safely run a 100 on it and it will clean that **** up better than new.

I used those Roloc disks to clean off the old gasket material for my H/C swap and they work great! Just make sure to tape up everything you don't want that **** getting into, because it gets everywhere!
