Default Engine swap vin(s) 6.5L to a 99 L31 need some Help!

i have a 95 silverado WITH 6.5L DIESEL it spun on me so now i am flipping to a 99 L31 Vortec trying to rake this with a comb and get eveything i need to do this conversion. l31 has 20k on it runs nice and come from a 3500 cargo van that had a 4l80e trans in it. i have a 4l80e trans in my truck with a 4.10 rearend. can you smart ones give me some advise i want the best i can get out of this conversion and dont want to mess this up. i never done this before. i got everything from the cargo van pcm/ ecu ?, wiring harnesses except for trans harness i figured it was the same harness same trans. i was wanting to use the same tank which is 28 gallon and could i use the same fuel lines.again any advice would be great advice.

The L31 PCM won't control the early 4L80E....PWM and on/off solenoids are totally different.

Do you still have the 6.5? I've been looking for some 6.5 parts.

You're probably better off using as much of the '99 parts as possible, setting it up as much like the van as possible. The '95 ECM had only diesel applications; don't think you're gonna hang onto it for use w/ the L31.

Q for 6.0Nova?:
Will a converter & pump swap to PWM allow the '99 PCM to control the '95 4L80-E?

I doubt it...you'd probably have to change the valve body in order to use PWM solenoids as well (?) but I dunno for sure, I am more familiar with 700R4s.

That reminds me though, the diesel convertor stalls at ~1400rpm and uses only 3 torque convertor bolts, so a torque convertor swap would probably be a good thing, even if it's not absolutely necessary.

A Megashift would control the trans, but you'd still have to deal with the diesel convertor (or just live with it, but performance might suck on account of the low stall).

The diesel is DBW, so you'd need a regular gas pedal. The DBW pedal is def. worth selling if you can find someone that needs one.
