Default 9" out of a power stroke diesel??????

I know someone who said they would sell me a 9" out of a 2000 ford f-350 power stroke diesel for 300$ or so and I was wondering if this would even be a practical option to even think about. If its impossible or would cost a fortune just tell me and refrain from calling me an idiot for asking hahaha!

Just curious if this would be something to look in to or not. If not I'm going to do a full rebuild on my rear with new gears and am going to weld the axle tubes and hope she dont break for now

Thanks all

you can find used 9" for a good price on this forum ,or look into buying a 8.8 rear end that some people are building on this forum.
