Default 05 GTO LS2. 24x reluctor wheel?

Ok I know this is a dumb question seeing as Im 99 precent sure I have a 24x reluctor wheel. I'm just double checking before I buy a new motor. I'm looking into buying an LQ4 short block seeing as though I am going to go boosted this winter and the stock LS2 has ALOT of blow by and has been ran hard for the past couple years. The only problem I think I will run into is making the knock sensors work?

You can drill and tap a spot on the side of the block for the knock sensors. And yes all GTO's have a 24x reluctor.

Do you have a 05 GTO and want to run a LQ4? If you do have a 05 GTO then you will want a LY6 block. It's a Gen IV block and will drop right in if you have to go iron. Unless you go for huge boost, the alum block at 4.005" bore will work good. 99.99% of GTO's had the 24x reluctor wheel. From one of the biggest engine builders on this board, he has seen a few 58x GTO's.

I guess i didnt explain the whole story im kinda on a budget build aswell. I bought the car for $4,000 and it is clean as hell just has a beat up LS2 in it. I have a local junk yard that will sell me LQ4 long blocks for $600 all day long with a 90 day warranty. I went through this same mess with my 07 NNBS silverado when i bought a GEN III block and figured out the hard way it won't work. Now a GEN IV block like a LY6 has a 58x reluctor wheel. this is where my confussion comes into play The LS2 in my GTO is a GEN IV block but retains the 24x reluctor wheel used in GEN III block.

You can always get the lingenfelter 58x to 24x converter box if your willing to stay aluminum.
