So, I'd like to track down my first car and see if I might get it back. It was not an exceptional car (well, for a 16 year old, it was, but in general, it was nothing noteworthy) but I would like to have it to make a project for my son.

My parents bought the car new in late 1997. It was a '98 model Z28, White with chrome wheels.

It was, as far as I know, fully loaded.

Grey Leather interior
Chrome wheels
Not sure if it had the Monsoon stereo, but it DID have the CD changer in the rear.
Automatic

We sold it to a family friend in Iuka, Mississippi after I got my 3rd ticket. They got it in late 1999. He kept it until 2001, when he sold it to a Tennessee State Trooper. When he sold it, the only mod was the Borla Cat-Back I had put in it. He doesn't remember the guys name or anything, so as of today, the trail goes cold at this point.

I have no idea what the VIN was, or how to get it. Do dealerships keep records that far back? I know the car came from Jerry Brown Chevrolet in Buford, GA.

If there is any info that will help, please ask. If I don't know, I'll try to find out.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Good luck Bro! I tried tracking down my dad's old 2nd Gen RS Camaro years ago but didn't have ANY luck. :( He passed when I was 8 and sold it when I was still 3 or 4 but I remember that car well. It would be like getting a part of him back.
