all this was a new best. h/c qa1 adj fronts / stock rear with lca, track wheels, full weight.

congrats man,, and at the same time that sucks , i would have guessed a blown 10 bolt but a blown motor??????? what was the issue, tune? did it go on a motor pass or spray pass?well sorry to hear that , put it up for winter and start the rebuild lol, when you get it pulled apart let us know what failed

Yeah after I cut that 1.45 people were telling me they didn't think it'd take many more of those lol. Yeah it crapped out on a spray pass towards the end of the track. I'll post results whenever I decide to start on it.

Well that blows. Sounds like a rod bearing, Which maybe not to bad. Could do a forged 347 for not to crazy amount of money and spray it some more.

thats kinda what im thinking. i dont really want to spend alot of money and i dont really need some crazy build. atleast its at the end of the season and i have all winter lol.

Ok I'll pm one. There's a video of the pass but nothing really happened. I just noticed my car not really pulling towards the end of the track, looked down an 0 oil pressure. Let out, awful knocking sound, stopped and shut car off, pushed it off the track. Game Over.

Pretty low mph. Sorry to hear about your motor. What do you think was the cause of it? Any video? Congrats on the 10 second pass.

How much did you abuse that engine? How many passes? How many shots?

Ya it was low mph, so I'm thinking the motor was already hurt. Then you went ahead and put the final nail in the coffin.

it was on a 100shot. it wasnt abused really. ive owned it 6 years and it WAS my dd. never got on it unless racing. never sprayed more than 100 shot ever. had 145k miles but i dont think that was a concern. so im not really sure what the cause was. here is a video someone made of that night. Im in the far lane against the white trans am on my 10.9 pass. the pass it let go on is @ 1:53 against the 2011 gt. hes on 150 shot. he also went 10.9 that night.

Something's not adding up. Tune maybe? What plugs were you running while spraying?

Bingo! That was your problem right there. From my understanding a non-projected spark plug is the way to go when dealing with nitrous.

Edit: My friend said it sounds like you spun a bearing. Your oil was probably low during that run. When was the last time you checked or changed your oil before the run?

yes it was a spun bearing. checked it maybe a month before i made that pass.

That N20 pass should have told you something was wrong.. You only picked up a few tenths and 3mph with a 100 shot? My full weight, stock bottom end camaro went 10.90@123mph 1.46 60ft. on the motor with H/C/I and went 10.28@132mph on a 125hp shot with the same 60 ft because I didn't spray it to about the 300 ft. mark.. time to build something bigger and better now..

Well at first I thought it may have been that I was losing bottle pressure going down the track. Heated it up a little more only to find out, no that wasn't the case.

Yeah I'm building something else for next year. Not doing nitrous anymore.
