Generation IV External Engine - Is anyone using the GMPP intake for the LS7 heads?

I'm building a 450 stroker and was originally going to run the WCCH Stage 3 L92 heads, but I think I will be going with either the Brodix BR7 or PRC LS7 285cc heads. I am now looking into intakes and because of my budget, I was thinking the GMPP since I already have a Accel 4150 1350cfm TB.
I know the GMPP is not the FAST LSXR or the Cary's 2pc intake, but is it worth getting, or should I get a OEM LS7 intake?
If there are any other intakes to chose from, that don't cost a billion dollars, please let me know. Thanks!

I am running the prc 285cc head and the ls7 intake on a 454. You can't port the ls7 intake enough to port match the heads you would have to port into the oring groove. If you have the clearance I would do the gmpp even over the fast. It will make more power than the fast and ls7. Just my 2 cents.

How do you like the 285s? I am tossed between them and the WCCH Brodix BR7s. It sad to hear about the issue with the GMPP intake, but expected with GM. I'd love to have Cary's intake, but too much for my student budget.

The prcs are cheaper and still seem to perform. I dont know what my numbers are yet I havent got the tune straitend out yet.

I'm running the GMPP intake as well. Ported to match my LS7 heads. Only draw back on this intake I see is cutting the cowl and your hood. I am also running an Aarons intake elbow. Heres a few pics for you:

I also had an issue getting the fuel rails to seat correctly. What I ended up doing is custom making fuel rail brackets out aluminum. Its pretty ugly, but they work. And my buddy made me a bracket to hold the throttle cable as well. I'll see if I have a pic of them for you.

Sup Bratha!
I would be using a Accell 4150 TB. I don't care about cutting the cowl and I have a VFN 4" ram air cowl hood so I doubt I'll have issues with that.
I'm just wondering how the performance is with this intake. It will be sitting on top of a 450 stroker so I want to make sure it will be the best "out of the box option" for the LS7. I just know they suck for the LS3 heads, but since there's not too much of a choice for the LS7....
BTW, why did you go with the elbow over a 4150?

Here is a pic of the bracket and the blocks. Only reason I had to make the blocks is because edelbrock wouldnt sell me just the brackets. I got the rails from a friend:

Whats going on? I went with this elbow mainly because thats what my engine builder reccomended. As for the TB, its a FAST 92, which I got fo free:D Mix up at the builders when I ordered a 90mm, so they bought me the 92. I also have to mention my engine builder ported my GMPP to match the ported LS7 heads. He once told me he didnt like the way a vic Jr flowed, with the restrictive elbow. Hope that helps out a little. I'm trying to find my build sheet to see how much they charged me for the GMMP.

Shit like that makes me not even want to use a company! What if you bought the rail and the damn bracket broke... I guess they would make you buy another fucking kit...!? Shit like that pisses me off!

I orriginally had a set of Speed Inc fuel rails, but they got kinda fuuucked up during moc up. So my buddy gave me the Edlebrocks. He got them by accident from them  But I tried my best sales skills to get them to send me the brackets, and searched everywhere with no luck. I guess I am just too honest. Never thought of telling them I broke a bracket, hahaha. Lucky for me I have a friend that is very very skills in the automotive crafts  He made that bracket for my throttle cable for me. He's a lifesaver :D

Delphigto in post #2 said that he was not able to completely port match the intake to his 285cc runners because that would put it into the O-Ring. Are you running 285s?

I am not sure off the top of my head what size they are. All my build sheets are at home, and I wont be there till December....sorry I suck:lol:

lol, it's all good Bratha!
Are your LS7 OEM casting or A/M? Who did the P&P?

they are OEM castings, 8452. They were a bit pricey back in 2007 when I was having this motor built. Chris Frank at RayMac Racing Engines, Ft Worth TX built my motor. However he has his own company now. www.frankensteinracingheads.com

Yeah with A/M that's starting to hit the scene, the OEM need to come down BIG TIME! You can get a set of bare Brodix BR7 for $500 each and RHS is coming out with their Pro Elite for around $500 as well. A fully dressed and CNC Broxid is $1500, so yeah... the OEM LS7 need to drop in price!

When Chris ordered my heads he ordered them bare. Not sure exaclty the price on them, since my build sheet is at home.

I'm just going to do the Brodix BR7 heads. They are $1500 dressed and that is with a factory CNC, which ain't all the great, but till I get the cheese to have Rich work them, it will do. I just wish there were more optimal intakes for us to chose from, without having to rape out budget.
And just to mention it, Rich's Stg 3 Brodix BR7 heads are only $500 more than the PRC LS7 heads, but then again, the PRCs are 8 bolt, but since I'm N/A and my block is not provisioned for 6, I not worried about it.

I am not too sure how much I paid for my intake, but on Scroggins site its not too bad:

That was on a stock intake.
