Default Noob, Headers and AIR tubes

I have a 2002 m6 TA WS6, I'm planning to get LT headers race style, what do I do to get rid off the AIR tubes and hoses that connects with the fuel EVAP, Should I get rid off the hole thing with the hoses or just the part that connect with the headers do I block the hoses off??? I'm thinking of Frost mail order tune my PCM after since I'm in Germany.

i completly forgot about AIR when i did my header install, so you know what i did? removed the AIR tubes, cut the vacuum hoses off and removed the associated hardware, ie, the air pump and the black cylinder hanging out by your intake manifold on the right sde in the back. i then used duct tape to block off the connection to the slp lid for AIR. yea it throws a code but started right up and never have had an issue. you will need the AIR codes tuned out to not throw a code. in other words cut that crap out AIR is completly not needed

OP, I've seen your car in Schweinfurt many a time. I'm stationed out of there currently.

Slp has a ir hose cap for the lid get vacccum hose cas for the thing in the back for the air then get under your car on the drivers side and take off the black flap the one you take off to change blinker bulbs and theres a big a$$ fan thing take it off and pull out all of the hose and delete your code it gives. The code doesn't do anything to your car

Mail order tune would be the way to go if you're not going to have someone physically tune it for you, after you've done major mods. (key word: major) There are a couple of places in Stuttgart, München, and Köln to get it tuned, but I would never trust a German to tune an American LS1, when he's been dealing with BMW's all day long.

That's my 0.02¢

That's what I was thinking, after the mail order tune I'll see if I can find a dyno just to know the numbers but like you said, I don't trust their service, plus it's too expensive in here with the euro rate.

Yes, remove the first pic. Take the vacuum line that goes back behind the intake and into the AIR system and cap it. I have mine stuck over one of the coil pack bolts that stick up...fits perfectly.

alright you have to go to your drivers side and remove the splash guards. there is a big fan 4 bolts to unbolt it. take off the hose to the lid and go to the back of intake and remove the other fan looking thing and get vaccum caps from autozone etc. then pull out all of the tubing. then all that is left is what is on the manifolds. you have to buy air delete covers for the manifolds unless your getting off road headers hope this helps.

The vacuum pump for the air system is under the driver side behind the bumper/fender.The hose runs up the driver side under the hood near the fender. It all disconnects easy.It only runs the first few minutes to warm the cats up
