Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Need some help after lowering my 67

Hey guy's, I just picked up a 67 Camaro about a week ago. Well I lowered it with a Belltech kit which is drop spindles/leaf springs, it was lowered 2 inch front and back and added some 17's on it that I bought off a friend. Well today when I take off to go to my brothers house, backing out of our driveway I hear a scrape. I didn't think anything of it really, but as im driving im scraping my front wheels. I was like what the hell, it didn't do that at all after initially lowering it a few days ago. Well I get to my brothers house and notice it slightly bent the fender trim which was causing it to scrape. I bent that back into place and later on the way home at big bumps it was bottoming out or scraping the fenders. Im wondering, it feels like it rides pretty smooth, but could it be that the old springs are just to worn and not stiff enough to keep it from doing that or are the shocks possibly too worn. Any info is appreciated, lol these old cars are still totally new to me. Thanks..

here's a couple pix of it, so far I love it.

Maybe your tie rods hitting your wheels - go here:

Wrong off-set/backspace ?

Old springs and 2" drop spindles just too much ?

Too much tire for the set-up ?

Everything has it's limits :o

Well my friend had the wheels on his Firebird with no issues, granted not as low as my Camaro. I think it's a combination of old worn shocks and springs. I think I may put an adjustable spacer in it and raise it an inch or go with QA1 coilovers.

Yes, that problem was where the relocated tierod was.... hit tires inner sidewall. Doesn't sound like the OP's issue though ?

Yea the tierod is about half inch or so from the rim so im fine there. I honestly think it's just the springs are too worn as well as the shocks causing it low bottom out when going over a bump. It does feel a little floaty sometimes, which is what leads me to believe the springs or shocks are too worn. Regardless im going back to the OEM spindles and a 1 inch drop spring, so if anyone is interested in some Belltech 2 inch drop spindles they'll be for sale anyday now. I hate to get rid of them too since the ride isn't that bad, but with my wheel combo (maybe being the wrong offset/backspacing it's easier to just change the spindles.

Ok an update for anyone interested since I know drop spindles can be a problem for some. As mentioned my Belltech drop spindles DO NOT cause the tie rod to hit the rim. What we think happened was the stock springs were just way too old and sagging so we never truely knew what the OEM height should be. We took the spindles off and put the OEM ones back on with a belltech 1 inch drop spring, and it was way higher than when I took it in to get it lowered. Lol, at that point everyone was puzzled. What we ended up doing was putting the drop spindles back on with the belltech springs and now it's perfect, no rubbing etc and it rides good. They said it will probably sag a bit once driven a bit but I don't mind a 1/4-1/2 inch since as it its about the same height as the back (just slightly lower) Overall I think it looks great. Anyway thanks guys for your input.
