Default Noise When Going Over Bump

2001 z/28 with 98,400 miles.

My suspension makes a squeaky type noise when I go over bumps.

A friend said he had a similar issue...he unscrewed a bolt on some part of suspension that goes through a metal sleeve. He said the bolt was rusty along with the rubber and could not move when suspension was moving...thus causing noise.

I had car in air today and I see what I think are the trailing arms from under back seat to rear shock area. I see a bolt going through those with nut on end going through a sleeve it looks like, Would that be an issue?

I am trying to get an idea of what I need to do to get rid of the squeak before I put my car back up in the air...its hell jackin up this camaro.

Eh? Sounds like you need some new shocks, or tie rod ends, or ball joints. If you indeed feel confident in your friends woes, simply WD40 some areas and see if the noise quiets down, thus pinpointing the area that might need some grease. First off though, grab yourself a Chilton or equivalent book on Camaro's, never hurts to know about your car thus assisting people in better helping you.

Are you talking about the lower control arms for the rear? I had the "squeaky squeaky" problem too. You can get greaseable poly bushings for the LCAs for ~$50 from JEGs. It should eliminate that squeak, and prevent a little body roll as well.

Stuff needs to be greased occasionally, no way around it.

Did you grease the bushings or get new ones (and grease them)?
Could it also be the panhard bar bushings? I wouldn't think it would make that loud of a squeek though

Sway bar bushings want the stinky pinkie too. Anywhere rubber slides
on metal, or metal-metal pretty much.

If you backed it up onto the Rhino ramps and did some bench presses
on the chassis you would probably be able to pin it down by ear.
