Its time to go back up and do this. The goal is break into 11s before I cam it.
Stats and times last time up...
+500 da
60'...1.686
1/4...12.062
mph...111.57
Car weighed in around 3190 with 1/4 tank gas.
Mods...lid, ssra, full exhaust, ss3600, tuned, mt drs 275 40 17 all around.

I plan on going wed or and fri. I expect the weather to be around 15 degrees cooler than before. Mods are the same except some small changes I made...
Swapped the pacesetters, tsp ory, and borla to arh with their catted y (but gutted) and a new borla. This time Im disconnecting the brackets on swaybar. I also added 20-30lbs when I put the carpet back in.

I think I should have this as long as I hook. I hope with the swaybar disconnected it really does help.
Any advice?

what tires?

just remove the swaybar (it's like 4 more bolts) and you'll lose most of the carpet weight. not to mention, weight off the nose is the best kind.

Its going to come down to DA. If you can get something around 0 or better, you should make it.

I was going to take it off but the ends are so rusted I cant imagine the bolts coming off unless it breaks off. I didnt wanna lose the bar permanently anyway. I want it on for the street. Today is the first time I have driven without it and while its not bad its still not the same. Kinda boaty floaty feeling.

Yep thats what I figured. That and hopefully the ricers dont drag the waterbox to the line and down the track.

Yea dude im pretty excited to get this.

Heres my list. I actually weighed the stuff myself. Weights could be off from other peoples but its all somewhat close so take it fwit.

Air pump and all attachments-8
Stock disk changer-8
T top holders-2
Windshield wiper reservoir-2
Spare tire and jack-35
Stock TC 50 minus Yank Tc 30 - 20
A/C-33
Back seats with seat belts/bolts-33
Front pass seat with seat belt-35
Front bumper support-19.2
rear bumper support 20.8
carpet 50.4

TOTAL 264.4LBS

Also I probably lost some weight with going full exhaust over stock.
I would like to weigh it again to see if the weight is accurate or not.
It was all free and didnt hack my car up at all.

Good luck man, I'm right there with you. I went for 11's last weekend after running a 12.23, ran 12.04 w/ a crappy 1.77 60'. If my new budget suspension setup comes in before Friday night I will be going to the track and trying everything to get that 11 sec slip.

If you have just as much off your car as me and your car weighs 3610 then I would have to say your scale is off more than mine! IDK where you get 600lbs from...my math is 420 from our weights. Yes a manual is lighter than auto for sure. I really dont know how acurate any scale is so who knows? I can say that my weight seems to be more of the norm than your does though just saying.
Hey man just got the swaybar off so ill be 10-15lbs lighter and hopefully it will make me hook good.
Thats a nice 60' for a manual isnt it?!

I assumed you had a 12 bolt or 9"! Wow I hope you have a trailor lol.
Ill be leaving around 2 hours. Hopefully I dont break anything or crash. I dont have a trailor or health insurance :jest:

Ya tell me about it everyone thought I had a 9" hahaha its kind of cool doing these 60s with that junk I know it won't last much more I have AAA! Good luck man maybe ill take out the seats they just seemed so light didn't think they were worth it. I need some skinnies for the front my 18s are heavy

senicalj4579
10-05-2011, 12:43 PM
If I didnt plan on anyother weight reduction mods then the back seats would stay. But for me this was a group effort with all the parts together. Obviously just taking 30lbs out wouldnt be worth it but everything I took off together was the goal. Seemed to work for me seeing how my car did 12.08 full weight in -1000 da then did a 12.06 in +500 da with weight reduction. Hell yeah I bet skinnies would help.
Were you talkin bout goin up this fri or next fri? Depending how the car does tonight I might go up fri to who knows.

Only 1 hour? I dont blame you thats where I would go to. Google says its 2.5 hrs for me going to lvd or ned both same distance but I cut it down to 2 hrs going to ned. I dont mess around driving there and back. Idk how I have never been pulled over yet lol. Its like 150 miles one way :burn:

I estimate the car to be very close to 3200 if the scale was acurate when I weighed it a few months ago. Since then I put back the carpet but took swaybar off.
I didnt get the da that you got but results were good! I will post in the forum below the 12s forum :)
Thanks Joe and now I want your Vette! :jest:

Oh you have the orange yea there was so many people over there I didnt know whos it was lol. Thats a nice car I like that hood! I saw you run a bunch of times and looks like those hoosiers did the job for ya. Your car runs great! I wish I went with hoosiers again this time around cause these mts are 7lbs a piece heavier!
Damnit I hope your car isnt messed up to bad. I hate that.
Congats on the new pb though man your car ran great thanks to a good driver!

yeah that was me! thanks! im actually considering buying BKDs old hood, the cowl is just to big for my taste!
i usually run MT ET street radials on my car but they wont pass tech so i borrowed my buddies hoosier quick time pros, first time i ran the car on bias plys. sucks cause it probably would have went a little quicker if i was running my radials but oh well. all in all it was kinda a bad night for me, had a couple things workin against and ended up breaking it but atleast i ran a good ET, prob the only thing keeping me from being really pissed!

your car goes really good, i watched that video, you pulled the left front a little bit on that run!

Why wont they pass tech? Ever try the hoosier drs? I used them last year and once this year. They are 7 lbs a piece lighter than the mickey thompson drs. I love them. Wish I went with them again. But for now the mt drs are great and good on the street to.
Yea! I didnt even know BDK was getting that vid. It was a nice surprise. I wanted to get a good run in before they closed but that car crashed and that was that. I think I might go up on a early morning test and tune to see how much better time I will get with a -1000 da lol
I hope you get that figured out and its not to bad to fix man.

theyre completely bald in the center, theyre real sticklers up there about that stuff. theyve been givin me shit since they hit the wear bars, every time i go to tech in it takes an extra 5-10 min because 3 people have to look at the tires before they pass me. so i didnt even bother with them this time, even tho i know they are safe and they still hook great.

i havent tried the hoosier DRs, theyre probably pretty good but for whatever reason theyre 275 50 15s run way small, they advertise them at 25.7" which wouldnt work with my gears.

I know what you mean. Last summer they failed me on my rear tires. Then this year the same guy failed me for having a small rip in my pants lol. At least he let me go to walmart to get some new pants wtf. Couldnt believe it.

SLP IROC-Z
10-07-2011, 10:07 AM
they failed you for a rip in your pants? thats BS. ive been there almost every wednesday and it seems like every time i go theyre trying to target something else on my car even tho theres nothing wrong. this past time the guy asked if i had a driveshaft loop, and sfi balancer lol. i teched in on my zr1s mind you. i politely told him the engine was stock and that i do have a safety loop but i dont need one on a DOT tire.

senicalj4579
10-07-2011, 11:14 AM
yea dude I couldnt believe it! total bs. its that one older guy up there that always gave me bs. i always try and avoid him if possible. you dont need a dsl untill what 11.9 this year? maybe they were still thinkin bout last years rules. i think it was 12.5 or something like that. but yea on dot tire idk.

for tires when a pair of dr's I had for one of my fwd cars failed on wed ( they were fine for fridays since slicks are allowed) I started passing tech on street tires ad swap after one pass to my dr's ....

everyones issues solved lol :burn:
