Default Which style converter is right for my ap?

Ok i have hit an issue and just dont have enough experience with ls style motors to know the difference. I have a 98 blazer 4l60e and a old style 6.0 with the thick rear and flat flexplate. I was able to run the stock blazer converter and now i need to upgrade to a stall. Which style can i use? Any 95-2000 year converter? ls1style? Traditional small block style?
Im asking because a buddy gave me a stocker out of his 5.3/4l60e combo and it is too long.
Please steer me in the right direction.
