Unhappy Moser M9...Possibly bad rearend problems?

My Camaro came with a Moser M9 when I bought it from the previous owner. At 70mph I noticed a slight shake. It is not the wheels or tires because I had them changed. I also noticed the brakes and insides of the rear wheels are getting dirty from a greasy/ oil substance. So I assume there is a leak. I don't know if its coming from the brakes or the rearend. How can I find out? I will check the fluid level of the rear when I get home, and the brake fluid doesn't look low.

And now last night, after sitting for a week or two, I tried to take the camaro out for a ride and I heard a groaning coming from the rear of the car. I couldn't tell if it was coming from the shocks or the rearend, but I was for sure a groaning and NOT a grinding. What should I do from here? I'm going to try and get my buddy over soon to really check it out, but is there anything small I can try out in the meantime?

I really hope it's nothing too bad because I really wanted this rear end for my SS. What's the worse that it could be? Does Moser sale a rebuild kit if it is something bad? Total newb when it comes to this rearend!

Here is the standard Moser 9 inch

Here is the Moser M9

I am assuming you have the standard Moser 9 inch, which has a pretty good size torque arm bracket. Check to see under the car that the body's floor is not rubbing on this torque arm bracket anywhere, as it can cause vibrations when it is rubbing. Bob

It's a m9. The car has BMR suspension pieces. I will check for clearance, but I don't see why something would just start rubbing now.

I don't see the M9 rubbing anywhere, as the torque arm that comes with it and the way it mounts is a whole different design than that of the standard Moser nine inch. You'll have to get your car up in the air on jack stands or on a lift and check everything out. Bob
