Default How many bottles does it take for this to go away?

So I have a forged iron block motor built for nitrous, I have tuned it down to the last nth degree, I am running a small 200 shot, no knock, great AFRs across the board.... I have never had a negative experience with nitrous, I have all the safety switches and equipment. I've been through maybe 4 bottles total on this motor (not much!)

Yet despite all of it, every time I arm the system and put the pedal down I can't help but wonder:

Is this the time it goes boom?

If it is tuned properly it will never go boom. If it is built for atleast a 200 shot(stock motors have ran tons of passes at 200) then the motor should last years.

If the tune is good why would it go boom? Sounds like you have the right parts if its trully built for nitrous. Of course increased cylinder pressures are going to add more wear but even still a 200 isn't a ton. I had a 89 mustang that had speedpro forged pistons and the rest was a stock bottom end and is still going strong for 10 plus years of nitrous through it. Don't be scared, let her roll on.

It's built for a 500 shot. I wanted it overbuilt. I'm not talking about when will it actually go, I'm talking about when will I feel comfortable and relaxed? lol.

You will relax when you realize that many people are spraying the same if not more nitrous through stock motors and no harm at all

It's already ridiculous that they break drag radials loose at 90mph.... I think this amount of torque is just right.

The thought will always be there built or not. We have very similar situations.
