Post PowerSteering and Driving question...

Basically I have to take a bus to ware the cars (a 98 FireBird V6, Manual) at and then drive it home. It is about 2 hours away and the owner has told me the Power Steering pump is dead.
Now, would it be bad for me to drive it home so i can fix it? would doing this kill the steering rack? does it have a chance of locking on the highway on me from lack of PS fluid? are there any risks? or will it be just fine driving it with a dead PS pump for 2 hours?

Thanks for the help.

would probably worry that it might seize on the drive home and tear your belt.

It could be a broken shaft. Start it, check for noises and shaft endplay. I would do it if it didnt sound like marbles in a mixer.
