Default Broke bellhousing....

So I tried to bolt the tranny up to my LS6 crate motor the other day. Well I didn't realize it comes with the wrong pilot bearing for an M6. While trying to tighten up the tranny to the bell housing the little ear on the bell housing between the hydraulic fittings for the throw out bearing, broke off. This motor is going in a road racing car, so it's not going to see the shock loads of a drag car. Can I still run this bell housing?

I would probably replace it but its your call. A picture would allow us to make a better guess on it.

Yeah... The biggest thing that worries me is that the little piece that broke off has the hole for one of the dowel pins...

Mayno have a ton of shock but probly see some high rpm if budget allows time to upgrade. But pics will help.

Rule #1 do not pull the belhousing tight with the bolts. Get a scattershield if its a race car.

Bellhousings can stand some repair but they are an important part of clutch & maindrive alignment so your concern is warranted. I'd take the front adapter plate (to serve as a jig of sots) and the pieces of the bell to get TIG welded.

That's going to be an issue. You'd better make sure it's 100% right if you decide to repair it.

I have one off an LS2 if you are interested in it. I upgraded to a Quick Time bellhousing. It looks brand new. Came off an 06 GTO with 19K on it.
