They also told me they have parts on the way, going to try and get it back up and running when I was by their tent. Torque Converter came apart.

Both cars looked to be fully charged before they even pre-staged, about 8-10 seconds on the brake.
Hopefully they can fix it by tomorrow.

One thing you won't see in any videos of this; a fire truck / emergency vehicle / anyone but their own crew that came to help.
What was that about?

They both have long staging techniques, not good for tranny fluid or the tranny. Sorry to hear the news.

Yea I bet they change fluid almost every pass heating it up like that.
If not I'd like to know what kind of fluid they are using that can hold up to heat like that.
no spooling in the pits now....

After the fire on friday we pinched the line running to the back of the car where the cooler is. So the pass today did the same thing because we had no trans fluid.flow. it all boiled in converter and pushed out another.seal. now that we have that fixed we should be able to better our 194mph we ran in first qual tomorrow in eliminations. :) might even add some boost down track depending on who we have first round.

What actually happened (talked with Steven last night), was a piece of metal or possibly several pieces of metal plugged up the lines connected to the trans pump (which pumps fluid out/in to the converter). With no fluid movement it's pushing the seal out the front of the tranny. They are working on it and hopefully they will make it first round this morning. We are heading to the track shortly.

If you're interested, here's a vid from last night. Since it's on our FB page, you'll need to scroll a bit to find it.

No we really dont have a long staging technique. Steven heard the other lane come up so he brought ours up on the 3step and lit the top bulb and was ready to go. As you can see his pre-stage bulb was lit he was just waiting for the other guy to stage. The other guy just decided to take his time :suspiciou . Our car can go from idle to launch rpm and boost in about 7 seconds. I have much more to say but I dont want a pissing match on the internet started.

We normally change fluid after every race. Like I said when we race other vetrans we dont get hung out on the tree like that

It was a bad deal for all parties involved but.....
7-8 seconds to be on the chip and boost
time it takes to prestage/bump in 2-5 seconds
up to 7 seconds for your opponent to time out
.8 auto start settings
You easily have a 15-20 second package
IMO, respectfully is way too long.

I think you misunderstood or I said it wrong. From Idle to 3step only 3-4 seconds then roll to in to prestage then say wait on opponent 2 seconds "usually if they arent playing games" to light their top bulb then roll on in to stage another 2 at most thats only 10 seconds. That is how it is when we race down here. We are never and I say never had to wait 17 seconds for an opponent to light the bulbs. But it is what it is and the whole thing is over and done with. I am just so glad that Steven wasnt seriously injured. As you can see that was a HUGE fire and there is no way it went un-noticed.

I'm not trying to bust your chops, the fire was a terrible deal that we dont wish on anyone. You guys have a car that no doubt flat out flies but all of the videos I've seen the staging has taken a mininum of 12 seconds and 15-18 seconds in competition. Best of luck to you guys I know you bust your ass between retail and weekend fun.

I know your not trying to give me a head ache but i do have race pak data that contradicts the videos. Maby you saw some older stuff before we put some compression in this thing.
