Saw this in the new Summit catalog. Looks pretty interesting, Im hoping they will make one for a BBC. Its a two peice so the lower peice that has the water passages and distributor mount can stay in place so you can remove the center section with the runners without pulling the distributor out or getting coolant everywhere.

They say 30 degrees cooler than an aluminum manifold, 9-11 lbs lighter, and 15 more hp and tq. Its also supposed to reduce carb vibration and has cast in nitrous bosses. The thing I really like is that the runners have a o ring seal rather than traditional gasket. The distributor has dual holddown mounts and also has an o ring seal. Price on them is $581.99, quite a bit more than an edelbrock but nowhere near a FAST intake for an LS.

Any thoughts? Anyone planning on trying one out? I dont have a SBC anymore but want to build a 540 BBC for my Formula in the near future.

I think an LS version would be cool with some injector bosses for fuel injection, or even a BBC version with injector bosses.

There is alot of lifter chatter i've heard when running these, but they are super light.

...of course the intake has nothing to do with the added noise, other than it is a thinner, lighter material that allows more sound to pass through vs an aluminum intake.

Hmm, yea I can see how that would happen. Doesnt bother me, after mini tubing and all the metal reduction its got all kinds of sounds.

Me and a buddy of mine have been looking at this also. We looked at it before AFR even came out with theirs.

Wilson manifolds was doing r&d on theirs and we called them and they kept telling us "soon". I guess by now ya'll can figure where this is going. We ended up buying a victor intake.

Soon after is when AFR revealed theirs. We might still go with it but the motor runs good now as it is.
