Default Help Guys!!!!

Car makes a weird whining, almost crying noise after it has been driven, let to sat for like 30-45 mins, then driven again. It does it right at the start up, lasts for about 10-15 secs, then stops. At first I though it was the belts, had those replaced, and it still does it. Any ideas? I will try to get a sound clip to help out....Im stumped! Thanks a lot for any ideas!

check the pulleys dood, i had a similar issue i changed the belts, didnt help much but it did a little, i put some lubricant on the idler pulley and tensioner pulley and it went away so i replaced those. i shop through advanceautoparts.com part numbers and prices are as follows:

idler pulley: ~$15 Dayco 89007
tensioner pulley: ~$15 Dayco 89015

might have something to do with your pcv valve, they are cheap can't hurt might help and its cheap

pcv valve: ~$10 Borg Warner PCV399

for around 40 bucks you can change out everything takes only a few minutes to switch them out. good luck

Probably an idler pulley, spray some WD-40 on them and see if the noise goes away.

Dont forget about the air pump.
Next time it does it,pop the hood real quick and pinch the black 3/4 inch hose running along the top of the driverside strut tower and see if the noise changes.

Kinda sounds like the AIR pump. Mine done this real loud when I first got my car so they replaced it under warranty.

Ah the air pump... I forgot about that. It could be a bad air pump or a bad check valve. Check valves go bad often, easy fix.
