Default Lt1 vs Ls1

Other than aluminum vs iron, what is the differences between a Lt1 block and an LS1 block?

The only things they share are the OHV arrangement and V8 format.

Otherwise, they have nothing in common, not even firing order nor exact displacement.

Found the answers I was looking for at www.hpsalvage.com They have a very good quick comparison guide of all the motors from the LT1 to the LS6. You should check it out.

LS1's have VTEC on the exhaust and intake cams, while LT1's only have it on the exhaust cam.
