ls engine codes can anyone tell me where the id codes are located on the ls block?..i did fine the block casting #12559846 and the stampings on the heads , which told it is 1998 year model. where am i not looking??????? help........

i know that gm did not go without stamping engine blocks so you could id them as to what they are and what they came out of............i don't buy your answer. there has got to be a way to id a block.
