Default Would you make this trade?

Ok recently talked to a guy about a possible trade. The car is a badically stock m6 t/a. My car is a 95 z with ported stock heads and a mild cam and bolt ons. The only part that worries me is he said the slave cylinder is going bad. I've never had an m6 or ls1 so I don't know what to expect. Should I be concerned?

If his slave cylinder is stock, I wouldn't really be concerned. They are bound to go bad eventually... Even though the modding cost alot of money.. its pretty much the fun part of having these type of cars. The road to getting fast.

If its in just as good condition as yours and doesnt have any more miles than yours I would consider the trade. Just have to drive it and see what you think!

The choice is yours!

I would take it assuming the car is in as good as shape as yours. It wouldn't take too much to make it as fast as your car now.

Its really impossible to tell without knowing the condition and miles of both cars. I would ask myself why is he willing to trade his car for for an older one that is probable the same quickness. Also not to turn this into a T/A vs. Camaro thing but generally T/A's hold their value better. After considering this I would rather have a nice LT1 then a POS LS1

Slave cylinder isn't that bad, just requires dropping the tranny a little. If its worth it, go LS1, even though LT1's can be pretty stout with the right mods. But everyone knows how easy LS1's are to mod, with such a huge aftermarket.

Now that I think about it, sounds like the guy is trying to dump this car... LS1's aren't hard to sell for good prices, and now he wants to go LT1? Not that its not unheard of wanting LT over LS but something doesn't seem right.. It might have some deep seeded problem he doesn't want to deal with, and you'll be stuck with it while he's cruising your running 95.

I say do it, the LS1 car is usually the better car but I would also consider the statement below. If it needs a slave, might as well figure on replacing the clutch while its apart.

take it for a drive before you make the deal and ask lots of questions. sounds like hes either lazy and doesnt wanna fix the slave cyl. or theres an underlying problem...good luck tho

Yeah, I would be really skeptical about this one.

Personally if it was me, I would ask if you can drive it and make sure its okay to run the **** out of it for a bit. Definitely check out engine while running it hard and see if there's any knocking or hesitation. Try and get the car in every gear and see the how the transmission takes it even though there is the problem with the slave cyl.

But, when I was looking for a new t/a I definitely did not go browsing for an LT1.
