Just ran friday night at Alt drag, ran 6 times, the best:
Temp mid to high 60's
D/A tad over 1000
- Issue was traction, especially the cooler the temp got, could not break stall it at all without spinning and ruining my times, so the best time was by leaving off idle. Time for new DRs I think.
-Tune is a little off, at the 3rd gear shift it bounces off the rev limiter 4 times before shifting to 4th. This happens at WOT on every run
I know when you read these you always see people say 'with this and that they could get a better time'. I honestly think if I can fix the two issues above I can get 12.2x.
Car has: UD pulley, P&P TB, Lid, LT's, Catted Y, LM1 Catback, SS3600, dyno tune, BFG Dr's, weight 34xx

I can't believe you are running into OD with 2.73s... You definitely want to look at your shift points and rev limiter settings to maximize the potential of what you have in front of you.
Also you should figure out why you are only gaining 20mph in the back half of the track. You are either looking at significant converter slippage or a tune issue. Try locking the converter for a pass to determine if it is in fact slippage.
BTW, what gear oil are you using? ;)

I Had the same set up except no cat back & no tune and ran 11.80 @ 114 w/ 1.61 60ft on Nitto 555R's !!!!!

If you still have 2.73 gears you will hardly use third gear. My third gear doesn't end until 150+ mph do you mean second to third ?o

If your trans is bouncing off limiter at 3-4th shift it sounds like your 3/4 clutches are going out - I have the same problem without a stall.

Sounds like a trans issue more than a tuning issue.
Nice times though!

All good input, thanks for the help!
I am now second guessing the gear, I watched my vids and it was going into 3rd not 4th! What do you guys think about this, still slipage?
I've made quite a few passes and some miles with the converter and tune without any problems and shifts were perfect. I then installed LT's had it retuned and thats is exactly when this started happening. I have no other issues other than this.
Also, I am not pleased with the tires I have I should have 1.7 for sure with this setup.

When my trans is getting hot it has problems going into third ..But I also have 129,000 hard miles so it doesn't suprise me.

BTW, what gear oil are you using? ;)
That could be another problem, I haven't done that mod yet ;)

You have two choices if the transmission is in good repair:
1) Keep it in second for the whole run (raise shift points and rev limits as required); or
2) Install more gear and retune the transmission/redline accordingly.
You are definitely at a cross road with this one.

You might consider buying a handheld programmer like a predator and just modify the shift points. I have seen them used on E-bag and here for as little as a 100 bucks. I hope for your sake its not a trans problem.

I am going to have the shift point looked at. I really think it's in the tune based on how it ran before this last tune and such. I hope I'm right since that is definately going to be the cheaper route.
blk/slvr02ss what was your race weight? Size of stall? How did you leave off the line? That is an amazing time. Obviously I see people on here going faster with similar mods but in person, honestly, I haven't seen anyone able to do anything better than 1.7.

I just had the shift point going into third changed down by ten mph, it didn't fix the problem. Now it surges right around 5500 instead of banging the rev limiter at 6300. After it surges it seems to catch the gear then shifts perfectly into third. By changing the points it seems like it just moved the problem down a notch in the rpms. Anyway talked to my tranny guy he is thinking that we need to change the three four clutch in the tranny. This sound about right?
